How the estimate works

How is the estimate calculated?

Time per frame scales with megapixels × samples ÷ GPU throughput, tuned so a 1080p / 256-sample frame on an RTX 4090 lands near 45 seconds — a realistic Cycles/Redshift ballpark. Cost is GPU-hours × the node's hourly price.

Why do more nodes not cost more?

A render farm splits your frame range across nodes that run in parallel. The total GPU-hours are the same whether you use 1 node or 16 — you simply finish sooner. That is the core economics a single workstation can't offer.

Will my real render match this?

Treat it as a planning number. Scene complexity, denoiser settings, motion blur and the render engine all shift the true time. The estimator is built to get you in the right ballpark before you spend a credit.
